On April 11, 2024, the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) announced it concluded review of the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) proposed changes to the overtime regulations. The final rule will be published any day now, and employers will have only 60 days to comply. The proposed rule, originally announced in September 2023, will increase the required salary threshold to qualify for the executive, administrative, and professional (EAP or "white collar") or highly compensated employee exemptions to the overtime pay requirements. The rule will increase the salary threshold for EAP employees from $35,568 to an estimated range of $55,068 - $60,209 annually and the highly compensated employees from $107,432 to $143,988 annually. The DOL estimates that 3.6 million workers will be entitled to overtime as a result of the new rule. The DOL's expedited timeline gives employers a short time to prepare. This webinar will provide tips on how to plan, budget, and prepare for these impending changes.
