Join Baker Donelson for the webinar, "Hollywood on Trial: Images of Women in Law," which will contextualize essential issues like gatekeeping, diversity, and inclusion through a range of cultural and historical imagery.

Using fascinating film and television clips that span a full century, Elizabeth Weitzman will illustrate the dramatically varied ways popular culture has reflected and redefined our viewpoints and experiences. The program begins in 1916, with the very first cinematic depiction of a working woman inside a courtroom, and ends by exploring the ways contemporary artists are teaching all of us to reject and reframe the biases still entrenched in professional narratives.

Presenter, Elizabeth Weitzman is an award-winning speaker, journalist, and author. Her most recent book is Renegade Women in Film & TV, which chronicles the remarkable hidden history of pop culture pioneers. Elizabeth was a film critic for the New York Daily News for 15 years, and has written for publications like the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, Marie Claire, and Harper's Bazaar. She has a master’s degree in Cinema Studies from NYU, and speaks regularly on gatekeeping, storytelling, and women’s history at organizations around the world.
