Eric L. Pruitt concentrates his practice in Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights, particularly in restructuring and workouts of commercial loan transactions. He has particular experience in healthcare loan workouts and in the niche area of bankruptcy taxation. Mr. Pruitt also represents CMBS servicers.

Additionally, Mr. Pruitt has substantial experience in maximizing value for creditors through loan sales and collateral recovery, including commercial foreclosure, and the subsequent disposition of assets (including REO sale transactions and auctions).

While based in the Firm's Birmingham office, he often handles matters across the Southeastern region and throughout the country. Mr. Pruitt is a frequent speaker and author on bankruptcy and taxation issues.

Mr. Pruitt is actively involved with the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the CRE Finance Council (formerly CMSA) and the Turnaround Management Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Turnaround Management Association – Alabama Chapter.

Mr. Pruitt is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Alabama Ballet and the Advisory Board for The Blackburn Institute. The Blackburn Institute is an organization with the stated purpose of developing a network of leaders who have a clear understanding of the challenges that face the State of Alabama. The Institute provides its members with opportunities to explore issues and identify strategic actions that will improve the quality of life for the State of Alabama and the nation. The Alabama Ballet promotes and fosters the development of classical and contemporary ballet through high quality performances, dance education and community outreach.
