Emily Stroope has a national litigation practice and a broad range of trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts. While Ms. Stroope has represented a wide variety of corporate clients, she focuses her practice on mortgage lending and serving litigation and consumer financial services litigation.
Ms. Stroope regularly represents clients against claims of violations of federal and state consumer protection statutes, including violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA). She also handles responses to complaints to the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) for clients in the mortgage industry and has successfully defended national mortgage servicers in court, obtaining awards of dismissal, summary judgment, and take-nothing judgments in their favor.
Ms. Stroope has experience defending lenders and other financial services institutions in real estate litigation and contract disputes, and also resolves complex title issues.
