Baker Donelson Relocates Fort Lauderdale Office

The Fort Lauderdale office of national law firm Baker Donelson has moved to a new location designed to better meet the needs of the Firm's growing South Florida presence.

Baker Donelson now occupies more than 11,000 square feet of office space at 200 East Broward Boulevard.

Office Managing Shareholder Eve A. Cann said, "Our Fort Lauderdale team has been steadily expanding, so we had not only outgrown our existing space but needed the ability to allow for further planned growth. Baker Donelson is focused on continuing to attract leading talent to serve our clients across South Florida and nationally, and this new location gives us the capacity to do that."

Since its launch in 2013 with three attorneys focused on mortgage litigation matters, Baker Donelson's Fort Lauderdale presence has grown to 40 employees, with nearly two dozen attorneys who serve clients in a range of areas, including commercial litigation, financial services litigation and compliance, insurance, transportation, products liability, intellectual property, cybersecurity, real estate transactions and litigation, general corporate issues, probate litigation, and complex estate and tax planning.

While the post-pandemic trend among law firms, including at many of Baker Donelson's other locations, has been to reduce their office footprint, the new Fort Lauderdale office is nearly twice as large as its previous 7,400-square-foot location.

"Our Firm has a hybrid work policy, but the team here prefers to be in the office pretty much every day rather than working remotely. So, each person has their own dedicated workspace," said Ms. Cann. "We also now have more space for in-person meetings, such as mediations, and to host gatherings including client events. We're excited to be in a new location that offers an improved experience for both our clients and our team members."

The new office suite includes an open concept hospitality area that flows into the reception lobby and a designated wellness room, which can be used by nursing mothers or by employees who need a mental wellness break. The office space features uniformly sized individual offices and workstations equipped with sit-stand desks and multipurpose outlets, as well as wireless chargers.

Baker Donelson has more than 650 attorneys and public policy advisors across more than 20 offices in 11 states and Washington, D.C. In addition to Fort Lauderdale, the Firm's Florida presence includes teams in Orlando and Tallahassee.
