Baker Donelson Recognizes Angie Davis for Commitment to Women in the Legal Profession

Baker Donelson has recognized Angie Davis with the Firm's 2021 Susan E. Rich Award for excellence in the promotion of and commitment to women in the legal profession.

A shareholder in Baker Donelson's Memphis office, Ms. Davis is chair of the Firm's Labor & Employment Group.

"For more than two decades, Angie has been instrumental in promoting the success of women in our Firm and has been a model for leadership," said Christy Tosh Crider, chair of Baker Donelson's Women's Initiative. "She has served as a mentor for women throughout the Firm, including our Women to Equity program members. She has done all of this while raising two wonderful boys. I am proud to call her my partner and my friend."

Ms. Davis represents companies in all aspects of employment law including litigation, representation before state and federal agencies, advice and counseling, training and drafting employment related policies and contracts. Ms. Davis is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and is a member of the Memphis, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations (Equal Employment Opportunity Committee) as well as the Association of Women Attorneys. She has also been recognized in Chambers USA since 2016 as a leading practitioner in Labor & Employment Law in Tennessee, has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America© since 2011, and was named the Best Lawyers'® 2019 Memphis Employment Law – Management "Lawyer of the Year". Since 2009, she has also been listed in Mid-South Super Lawyers and has been recognized among the publication's lists of top 50 female attorneys, top 50 Memphis attorneys and top 100 Tennessee attorneys.

Baker Donelson established the Susan E. Rich award in honor of Susan Elliot Rich, a shareholder in the Firm's Chattanooga, Tennessee office, who was the Firm's first woman shareholder, the first woman to be appointed an office managing shareholder, and the first woman appointed to the Firm's board of directors. Angie is the Firm’s 12th annual recipient of this award.
