Baker Donelson Adds Transactional Tax Attorney Andrew Wootton as Of Counsel in Houston

Andrew Wootton has joined the national law firm of Baker Donelson as of counsel and member of its Tax Group. Mr. Wootton resides in Dallas and works virtually in the Firm's Houston, Texas, office.

Mr. Wootton concentrates his practice on transactional tax matters, with a particular focus on the private equity, consumer packaged goods, real estate, and technology sectors, and he has extensive experience with domestic and cross-border engagements involving corporate and partnership tax issues. He advises clients on tax issues related to the formation and operation of corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies, as well as the development of tax-efficient acquisition, disposition, and financing structures.

Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Wootton served as a senior manager at Ernst & Young LLP, and he has worked with a wide range of clients in many different sectors, including Fortune 500 companies; private equity, venture capital, and investment funds; family offices; local companies; emerging companies; and individuals. He represents clients in various types of transactions, including equity and asset sales, taxable and tax-free acquisitions and divestitures involving various corporate and partnership entity structures, reorganizations, fund formations, debt and equity financings, and internal restructuring transactions.

Mr. Wootton graduated with a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Texas at Austin, and he received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law (magna cum laude). He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, Tax Section and the State Bar of Texas, Tax Section.
