Does your Social Media Policy violate the National Labor Relations Act? In an effort to ensure compliance with the NLRA, the NLRB's Acting General Counsel recently released a report on social media issues that employers frequently face. Starting January 31, 2012, the NLRB will also require all private employers to display a poster advising employees of their rights under the NLRA. Given these new requirements and employees' heightened awareness of them, employers can expect more challenges to their social media policies and more unfair labor practice charges in 2012.

Because federal labor law applies to covered employers even if they do not have a union, the NLRB's guidance and the poster requirement are important for all human resources professionals, whether they work in a union or non-union setting. Please join us for a discussion of these social media issues as well as an update on recent cases and legislation regarding the use of social media in the workplace, and practical tips for protecting your company
