(Memphis, TN / September 26, 2013) Baker Donelson is ranked in the top 10 among a select group of law firms that most often represent the nation's largest corporations, according to the recently released "Who Represents America's Biggest Companies," Corporate Counsel's annual survey of outside counsel to the Fortune 500 companies.
To compile this list, Corporate Counsel surveys legal departments of the Fortune 500 to identify the law firms most widely used by those companies. In the list of law firms with the most total mentions by Fortune 500 companies, Baker Donelson ranked sixth overall in the country with 64 total mentions.
Baker Donelson also received high rankings in several key practice areas:
- Baker Donelson was ranked third nationally among the law firms most often mentioned as outside counsel in the area of contracts litigation. Twenty-three of the Fortune 500 companies – including financial institutions, health care organizations, manufacturers and insurance providers – cited the Firm in this area.
- The Firm was also ranked third in the area of torts litigation. Baker Donelson was noted as outside counsel in this practice area for 20 companies from a wide range of industries, including communications, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and health care products and services, financial services and energy.
- Baker Donelson was also recognized in the category of labor litigation. Listed as outside counsel in this area by nine of the Fortune 500 companies, the Firm was ranked 12th in the country, along with several other firms.
