The NLRB's Columbia University decision puts private colleges and universities on notice that they are possibly vulnerable to union organizing of graduate assistants as well as faculty. Edward R. Young will discuss how to determine who among the faculty and graduate students are and are not covered by the NLRB. In addition, we will discuss how to prepare campus managers and supervisors to combat union organizing, explaining what they can and cannot say and do to assert the institution's policy on union organizing.
