Mr. Kabalka is a member of the Corporate Group and has corporate legal experience in high-value procurement, supply, transportation, logistics, brokerage, sales, distribution, warehousing, information technology, licensing, vendor, real estate leasing, and confidentiality contracts, as well as corporate contract department management and process improvement.
As a trusted partner to his clients, Mr. Kabalka offers strategic counsel regarding commercial transactions, customer and vendor contracts, internal contract department processes and training, and other business issues. Mr. Kabalka assists clients with the drafting, analysis, and negotiation of commercial contracts in several industries including the electric vehicle and infrastructure industry, transportation and logistics industry, manufacturing industry, and operations and maintenance services industry. He is an effective communicator who readily explains complex legal documents and concepts to business stakeholders and clients.
Before joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Kabalka worked for more than 14 years as in-house corporate counsel at several companies in the transportation, logistics, and manufacturing industries, including a recent position as senior director and legal counsel at a global freight transportation and logistics company, where he supervised and guided the commercial contract department for North American transportation, as well as handling a broad range of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters and commercial business disputes. Mr. Kabalka also served as in-house counsel at several other companies, including as corporate counsel at a nationwide transportation, logistics, and warehousing services provider, division associate counsel at a leading producer of bleach and chlor alkali products in North America, and associate general counsel for one of the largest trucking companies in the United States. Before his in-house experience, Mr. Kabalka had over a decade of extensive litigation and appellate experience.
