Sharonda Fancher Recognized as Rising Young Attorney by Alabama Law Alumni Society

Sharonda Fancher of Baker Donelson has been recognized by the Alabama Law Alumni Society with the inaugural Rising Young Attorney Award.

Ms. Fancher will be presented with the award at the Alabama Law Alumni Society's virtual banquet and reception on February 26. The award recognizes rising young alumni who have made outstanding contributions benefitting the legal profession, the community, and the University of Alabama School of Law.

Ms. Fancher is an associate in Baker Donelson's Birmingham office. She has significant experience litigating employment cases and regularly counsels clients on a variety of employment matters including leave issues, employee counseling, hiring and discipline, disability management, and policies and procedures. Ms. Fancher has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Mid-South Super Lawyers since 2019 and was named to the inaugural Best Lawyers in America® "Ones to Watch" list in 2021.

Prior to attending the University of Alabama School of Law, Ms. Fancher served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Mozambique from 2007-2009, where she helped establish a youth-oriented health education program. She is an active member of the Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations and was selected to participate in the Birmingham Bar Association's 2018 Future Leaders Forum. Ms. Fancher is also a member of Baker Donelson's Recruiting Committee and Women's Initiative, serving as a mentor to junior associates since joining the Firm.
