Join Baker Donelson Government Enforcement and Investigations Group Chair Joe Whitley for the National Institute on White Collar Crime, March 6 – 8 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.

Now in its 33rd year, the Institute has been attended by leading federal and state judges and prosecutors, law enforcement officials, defense attorneys, corporate in-house counsel, and members of the academic community. The faculty regularly includes some of the top members of the white collar bar in the United States and abroad. Among the audience are nationally renowned lawyers, as well as many who are beginning to concentrate in the white collar area.

Mr. Whitley will be featured on the panel "National Security, Economic Espionage, and Sanctions: The Challenges of a Flattening World." He will be joined by fellow panelists Jeffery B. Vaden, Julie A. Edelstein, Wendy L. Wysong, and Paul Enzinna, as they discuss how technological advances, globalization, and international terrorism pose new challenges to the rule of law. The panel will address those challenges, and the legal system's response to them, from border security to individual privacy and government secrecy, and from economic espionage to international trade.

Additional topics covered at the Institute include:

Sentencing in white collar cases;

  • Recent developments and new trends in FCPA enforcement;
  • Securities enforcement;
  • Emerging enforcement trends in health care;
  • Increasing enforcement of economic sanctions and export control;
  • Antitrust prosecution trends;
  • Environmental crimes in a world of global markets, climate change, and terrorism;
  • Comprehensive tax enforcement;
  • Asset forfeiture and freeze orders; and
  • Recent developments in anti-money laundering.

Baker Donelson is a proud sponsor of the National Institute on White Collar Crime.
