Mikhal Wright is an associate in Baker Donelson's Orlando office where he assists clients in civil litigation and insurance defense matters.
Mikhal has experience in representing large national insurance companies and has litigated personal injury protection (PIP) lawsuits, advised on legal issues and strategies, negotiated resolutions with plaintiffs and opposing counsel, and attended mediations. He has experience litigating matters in all regions of Florida and is skilled in the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, Florida Small Claim Rules, Florida Rules of Appellate Procedure and Florida Rules of Judicial Administration.
Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Mikhal spent three years as an assistant public defender where he provided counsel for criminal defendants, tried several misdemeanor and felony jury trials to verdict, and became proficient in the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure and the Florida Rules of Evidence. His work included deposing law enforcement officers and witnesses, drafting motions and appellate briefs as well as litigating bond, evidentiary, and sentencing hearings. Mikhal's previous legal experience also includes practicing as in-house counsel for a national insurance company and as an associate for an Am Law 200 law firm.
