Ms. Nelson has significant experience in health care liability defense, commercial litigation, insurance coverage litigation, and insurance defense. Ms. Nelson's practice also focuses on counseling and litigation on behalf of employer clients in the area of labor and employment.
As a member of the Health Care Litigation Group, Ms. Nelson represents health care providers, including physicians, medical practice groups, and medical institutions in defending all phases of lawsuits alleging health care liability in federal and state courts.
In addition to representing health care providers, Ms. Nelson is experienced in representing employers in labor and employment matters pending before the EEOC and in federal court. Ms. Nelson also represents business clients in commercial litigation and handles diverse matters arising in the insurance defense context.
Ms. Nelson has counseled and represented insurance carriers in insurance coverage litigation involving long-tail exposure, including asbestos and environmental claims. She has also litigated and arbitrated property/casualty reinsurance disputes. Ms. Nelson has experience representing and counseling a federally funded captive insurer concerning matters relating to World Trade Center debris removal liability claims.
