Julius assists U.S. and foreign companies across multiple industries with international trade regulatory issues, including identifying import/export licensing strategies, advising on global anti-corruption compliance, and counseling on Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) economic sanctions programs.
He works with companies regarding product classifications for import and export and advises on various regulatory requirements involving the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection, the Department of State's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls and the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security. Julius assists with a variety of issues involving international trade remedies, restrictions, and enforcement, including advising companies on how to navigate foreign investment reviews conducted by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Julius also works with the financial services practice group to represent financial institutions with issues related to creditors' rights, business bankruptcies, foreclosures and commercial litigation.
Prior to Baker Donelson, Julius was a legal extern for the Honorable Stephen V. Wilson in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He also worked as a law clerk for the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand under the Intellectual Property Attaché for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), assisting government officials on international trade and intellectual property matters, including the implementation of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
