Professional Biography

Overview

As a member of the Labor & Employment Group, Emma Davis represents companies before state and federal courts, the EEOC, and the DOL, helping to defend them against allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and other claims. Ms. Davis also helps advise companies as to issues related to employee disability and medical leave, termination of employment and employee discipline, and company policies and procedures, including revisions to employee handbooks and other required employee documentation.

Ms. Davis is also a member of the Firm's Higher Education Group, and she assists educational institutions in Title IX compliance and in conducting investigations of claims of sexual misconduct involving students and faculty/staff.

Ms. Davis has also represented municipalities and governmental agencies in eminent domain negotiations and litigation concerning the taking of private property for various public projects.

Ms. Davis is a frequent speaker and author on various employment topics. She provides employee on-site training on topics of sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other employment issues in the workplace.
