Baker Donelson is pleased to announce that Jenna M. Bedsole has been named the recipient of the Edward M. Patterson Servant Leadership Award by the Alabama State Bar. The award is presented annually to an alumni of the Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum who consistently demonstrates professional excellence, integrity, and service to the legal profession, the State Bar and to the community at large.
A shareholder in Baker Donelson's Birmingham office, Ms. Bedsole was a member of the inaugural class of the Alabama Bar Association's Leadership Forum in 2005. She serves as chair of the Firm's Labor & Employment Group, which is comprised of more than 90 attorneys across 22 offices, and is an active member of the Birmingham Business Alliance where she has served as chair of the organization's Women's Business Council and Regional Economic Council. Ms. Bedsole is also the executive producer and director of "Stand Up, Speak Out – The Nina Miglionico Story," a feature film documentary on the life and legacy of one of Alabama's first female attorneys.
Ms. Bedsole represents employers in a broad range of employment matters and with the recent increase of wage and hour law cases, she has defended employers successfully in both single plaintiff cases and collective actions. Since 2014, Ms. Bedsole has been recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers and has been listed as one of the top 50 female attorneys in the Mid-South since 2016. She has also been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2015 and was a recipient of the Birmingham Business Journal's "Women to Watch" Award in 2015.
