Baker Donelson's Dawn Maruna Earns Information Privacy Certification

Share

Dawn Maruna of Baker Donelson has earned a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Originally launched in 2004 as the first professional certification ever offered in information privacy, the CIPP has become the preeminent credential in the field. A CIPP credential means the recipient has gained a foundational understanding of privacy and data protection law and practice, and has knowledge of jurisdictional laws, regulations and enforcement models. Ms. Maruna holds the CIPP/US concentration, which focuses on the U.S. private sector.

Ms. Maruna, an associate in Baker Donelson's Nashville office, is a member of the Firm's Commercial Transactions and Business Counseling Group and the Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity Team, as well as co-chair of the Firm's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) team. She concentrates her practice on regulatory compliance, vendor management and general corporate transactions for tech, financial services, health care, and hospitality industries and routinely advises on privacy, security and records management, cybersecurity, e-commerce, software and content licensing, and general commercial and professional services contract issues. Ms. Maruna is a frequent author and speaker on data privacy and security regulation and is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, New York and New Jersey.
