Baker Donelson has added Rebecca Miller and Andrew Novak to the Firm's Real Estate Group in New Orleans.
Ms. Miller joins the Firm as of counsel, focusing her practice on commercial real estate, including leasing, development and land use, as well as general business matters. She has extensive experience in real estate transactional law, including the acquisition, development, and leasing of commercial properties. Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Ms. Miller worked at a full-service legal group advising clients on real estate and corporate matters. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and currently serves as chair of the Odyssey House Louisiana.
Also joining as of counsel, Mr. Novak has experience in complex commercial transactions, title insurance commitments and policies, and title insurance coverages. Prior to joining Baker Donelson, he was a manager and attorney for a top title company in New Orleans, where his practice focused on reviewing abstracts of title for complex commercial transactions; preparing title insurance commitments and policies; negotiating title insurance coverages; and preparing and reviewing closing documents, including sales, exchanges, donations, servitudes and settlement statements. Mr. Novak has also worked for several title insurance underwriters and served as state counsel for the largest title insurance underwriter serving Louisiana.
