Baker Donelson Adds Health Care Litigator Amanda Wilson Speier in Atlanta


Baker Donelson has added Amanda Wilson Speier to the Firm's Health Care Litigation Group as of counsel in the Atlanta office.

"Amanda brings great skills and experience as a litigator who will enhance our services for successfully resolving our clients' highly complex regulatory disputes and civil litigation in the constantly evolving health care arena," said Christy Tosh Crider, chair of the Firm's Health Care Litigation Group.

Ms. Speier represents clients in matters involving professional liability defense, general liability, contract and billing disputes, and premise liability defense. Her health care entity and medical provider clients include hospitals, long-term care facilities, nurses, physicians, physical therapists, mid-level providers, radiology technicians, and pharmacists. She also advises providers in responding to complaints and investigations by state licensing boards. In addition, she counsels corporate clients on risk mitigation strategies, compliance with document retention and preservation issues, responses to inquiries pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, peer review and medical review committee privileges, and HIPAA and EMTALA issues. Her experience includes defending business tort and contract disputes, complex insurance issues, ERISA claims, RICO claims, and claims involving medical devices.

Ms. Speier, who came to Baker Donelson from Taylor English Duma LLP, received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Tulane University.
