Baker Donelson Adds Bernard J. Graves Jr. to Intellectual Property Group

Baker Donelson has added Bernie Graves to the Firm's Nashville office as a member of the Intellectual Property Group. He previously served as vice president and deputy general counsel for Eastman Chemical Company.

"Bernie has a great deal of experience with high-level patent, trademark and trade secret work and has demonstrated tremendous leadership as well as a pragmatic approach to solving problems that will make him a great fit with our team and an asset to our clients," said W. Edward Ramage, chair of Baker Donelson's Intellectual Property Group.

Mr. Graves joins the Firm as of counsel and concentrates his practice in intellectual property law with a particular focus on patent portfolio creation and trade secret protection. He is a chemical and material sciences patent attorney, with an emphasis on identification and protection of intellectual property rights in the manufacturing sector. Mr. Graves advises clients on the implementation of corporate procedures and policies to protect proprietary technology through all aspects of representation before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He also advises corporate clients using tailored methodology for risk-based allocation of scarce financial and human resources to build the intellectual asset base of the enterprise.

A graduate of Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis, Mr. Graves is an Emeritus member of the Association of Corporate Patent Counsel and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Intellectual Property Owners Association.
