Monica A. Frois Named to International Association of Defense Counsel Leadership Role

(New Orleans, LA/September 8, 2010) Monica A. Frois, of the law firm Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, has been appointed Vice Chair of Membership for the Medical Defense & Health Law Committee of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).

IADC is an invitation-only professional association of approximately 2,500 top corporate and insurance defense lawyers around the world. Its Medical Defense & Health Law Committee serves all IADC members who represent physicians, hospitals and other health care providers and entities in medical malpractice actions, health law advisory and regulatory support such as in defense of qui tam actions, federal fraud and abuse claim evaluation and defense, peer review/quality improvement counseling and licensure board appearances. Ms. Frois, who has already served a one-year term as Vice Chair of Membership for this committee, has been appointed to a second one-year term.

A shareholder in the Firm's New Orleans office, Ms. Frois has 20 years of experience in health care matters as well as complex litigation, insurance issues, legal ethics and professional responsibility litigation. She represents hospitals, physicians, nursing homes and other health care providers in operational, compliance, regulatory and transactional issues as well as a wide variety of litigation. She has served on the Medical/Legal Interprofessional Committee of the Louisiana State Medical Society and the Louisiana State Bar Association. Ms. Frois has been recognized as a leading attorney in her field by The Best Lawyers in America® and Louisiana Super Lawyers and holds an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible recognition for legal ability and ethical standards.
