(Orlando, FL / April 1, 2015) James M. (Jim) Talley has been named managing shareholder for the Fort Lauderdale and Orlando offices of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC. Mr. Talley assumes the role previously held for three years by Donald E. Christopher, who will continue his business litigation practice with the Firm. Mr. Christopher was previously a managing shareholder with Litchford & Christopher for more than 25 years prior to merging with Baker Donelson.

Mr. Talley's practice principally involves business litigation with an emphasis on construction-related disputes. He has assisted businesses and individuals in the effective and efficient resolution of a wide range of civil disputes and has experience representing companies and stakeholders in corporate and partnership disputes. He also has represented companies and other parties, including employees, in disputes regarding intellectual property, non-compete and contract matters. Mr. Talley has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2009 and was named the "Orlando Lawyer of the Year" in Real Estate Litigation in 2014. He has consistently been recognized as a leading attorney in several local publications, including Florida Trend; Orlando, The City's Magazine ("Best of Orlando" issue); Orlando Home & Leisure Magazine; and Orlando Life Magazine.
A graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law, Mr. Talley is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and is a member of the Orange County and Florida Bar Associations. He is a former member of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee and served as the chair from 2012-2013.
