Financial institutions of all shapes and sizes are facing proposed regulations regarding social media from regulatory groups such as the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council. Jackie Prester comments in this Memphis Business Journal article about the challenges financial institutions face in complying with the more strict oversight that regulatory bodies are proposing over accounts on sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
“Issuing a press release, for example, is formal language that’s reviewed and is typically very concise, whereas on Facebook or Twitter, it’s going to be abbreviated and more casual,” said Ms. Prester.
