Baker Donelson is proud to sponsor the Fantasy Sports & the Law: Implications for Casinos panel Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the Southern Gaming Summit in Biloxi, Mississippi. The panel will be moderated by Baker Donelson shareholder, Paul S. West. The meteoric rise of fantasy sports sites has caught the attention of state authorities around the country and produced a legal question as to whether the sites are illegal sports betting operations or legitimate games of skill. A number of states are looking for clarity, initiating everything from legal bans to pro-fantasy sports legislation. Meantime, the controversy has again shed light on the demand for sports wagering and the need that many gaming interests see to update current sports betting law. This session will examine the legal questions surrounding fantasy sports and their implications for regulated gaming operators.
