Emily R. Lee Appointed to Leadership Role in American Bar Association's Health Law Section

(Houston, TX / September 13, 2016) Emily R. Lee, an associate in the Houston office of Baker Donelson, has been appointed to a one year term as vice chair of the Business and Transactions Interest Group of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Health Law Section.

The Business and Transactions Interest Group focuses on the law and its application to the broad scope of transactions and business operations of those involved in the health care industry. The Interest Group also coordinates with other sections to follow developments affecting health care transactions and businesses related to areas such as securities law, antitrust law, tax law, intellectual property law and accounting. As vice chair of the Interest Group, Ms. Lee will assist the leadership team with providing opportunities for group members to participate in educational activities, review and comment on legislative and regulatory developments.

Ms. Lee is a member of Baker Donelson's Health Law Group where she represents health care providers, life sciences startups, technology companies and public and private energy companies in a variety of corporate and securities transactions, including formation, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. She has previously served as vice chair of the Managed Care and Insurance Interest Group of the ABA's Health Law Section.
