(Memphis, TN / October 7, 2014) Tony Alexander of Baker Donelson has been appointed to the board of the University of Memphis Research Foundation. Mr. Alexander will serve a four-year term.
The University of Memphis Research Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting faculty, staff and student research activities at the University of Memphis and public service and economic development in Tennessee.
Mr. Alexander is of counsel in Baker Donelson's Memphis office and is a member of the Firm's Intellectual Property Group. His practice is focused on providing compliance advice concerning U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations that impact different points along the supply chain continuum, from raw ingredient selection for cosmetics, to the import and export of food, to the recall of implanted medical devices. A registered patent attorney, he also has significant experience in trademark, trade dress, trade secret and copyright matters.
Mr. Alexander is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School and has been an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law since 2012. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Intellectual Property Owners Association, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, and the American Bar Association. He has served as Senior Pastor of Faith Christian Church since 2011.
