Baker Donelson Attorneys Elected Fellows of American Bar Foundation

(Jackson, MS/April 26, 2011) Three shareholders in the Jackson office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, have been selected as Fellows of the American Bar Foundation: Sheryl Bey, David F. Maron and William N. Reed.

An independent, nonprofit organization for more than 50 years, the American Bar Foundation is dedicated to advancing justice through rigorous research on the law, legal practices and the law's impact on society. The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation is an honorary organization of lawyers, judges and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. Membership in the Fellows is highly selective, limited to the top one-third of 1% of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by Fellows in their jurisdiction and elected by the Board of the American Bar Foundation.

Ms. Bey concentrates her practice in complex commercial litigation, bad faith insurance defense, insurance coverage and contract disputes. She has been listed in Mid-South Super Lawyers since 2006 and holds an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating of an attorney's ethical standards and professional ability. Ms. Bey is also a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and is active in the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers' Project. A graduate of Loyola University School of Law, Ms. Bey was recognized in 2007 as one of Mississippi's 50 Leading Business Women by the Mississippi Business Journal.

Mr. Maron concentrates his practice in commercial and product liability cases, in addition to handling contested regulatory proceedings and appellate matters. He has been listed in Mid-South Super Lawyers and holds an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Maron is also a Fellow of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. He has served as president of both the Mississippi Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the Jackson Young Lawyers Association. A cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law, Mr. Maron was recognized in 2005 with the Mississippi Center for Justice Award for his pro bono service in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Mr. Reed concentrates his practice in the areas of class action, product liability, insurance coverage and contract litigation. He has been recognized as a leading attorney in his field by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, The Best Lawyers in America® and Mid-South Super Lawyers, and holds an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. A graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law, Mr. Reed is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and the Mississippi Bar Foundation, and is a member of DRI. He is a member of the Board of Directors of TerraLex, a global legal network of 160 law firms in 100 countries and 41 U.S. states, and is a member of the faculty class for the 39th Annual International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy.
