Alton "Biff" Bayard Provides Insight on Passing on a Family Business in Greater Baton Rouge Business Report

In this Greater Baton Rouge Business Report article, Alton "Biff" Bayard, chair of Baker Donelson's Tax Department, says that in the past year planning how to pass a family business down to the next generation has taken a healthy turn toward ensuring more specific succession outcomes.

"Family businesses, in particular, are looking not only at estate taxes and planning but also at transitioning the management of their businesses," Mr. Bayard says. "If owners determine that they want specific managers to remain in place, the planning process looks at how to make that happen."
