Michael Richards, shareholder in the Memphis office, maintains an active civil trial and appellate practice, concentrating in complex business litigation, including class actions, mass actions, and CAFA issues. Recent cases involve post-employment, non-competition agreements, state and federal antitrust and securities law claims, intellectual property litigation involving patents and trademarks, and commercial litigation. Reported cases include the scope of appellate review of arbitration proceedings, commonality/typicality requirements in class certification, non-competition law, and the applicability of state antitrust statutes to the provision of service.
