On June 7, 2022, the District of Columbia Council passed the Cannabis Employment Protections Amendment Act of 2022, now pending Mayoral review. The Act will make sweeping changes by restricting employers from taking any adverse action against an applicant or employee for use of marijuana or medical marijuana, including terminating an employee who tests positive for marijuana.
