Thomas A. Hodge, senior counsel in the Knoxville office, concentrates his practice in the areas of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and unfair competition law and related litigation. He has extensive experience in all aspects of U.S. and foreign intellectual property law including prosecution, licensing, patentability, validity, registrability and infringement opinions and litigation. Mr. Hodge served as in-house patent and trademark counsel for Eastman Kodak, Tennessee Eastman, S.C. Johnson & Son, Oscar Mayer and General Foods. Before joining Baker Donelson and since 1986, he was in private practice with Jones & Askew and Kennedy, Davis & Hodge. In addition, Mr. Hodge is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Hodge's patent experience includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications directed to photographic film emulsions and processing; the manufacture and use of inorganic and organic compounds and polymers; compositions for household products, including insecticides, air fresheners and shaving products; the packaging, equipment and processing of products in the food industry; compositions for thinning and removal of paint; the processing and use of kaolin clay products; and the manufacture and formulations for unsaturated polyester compositions.
