Ron Powers, of counsel in the Firm's Chattanooga office, concentrates his practice in litigation and transportation. His practice is focused primarily in the areas of tort defense and commercial litigation, insurance defense including personal injury and products liability litigation and in defending trucking industry personal injury and death cases. He handles a broad range of civil litigation at both the trial and appellate levels and has significant experience in truck and automobile collision litigation and wrongful death cases. Mr. Powers' commercial litigation experience encompasses a wide variety of matters including business and contract disputes, defective product claims, banking matters, condemnation suits, creditors' rights and estate litigation. His practice involves the handling of multi-party construction litigation, the enforcement and defense of construction liens for contractors, suppliers and property owners and the representation of property owners in commercial lease disputes.
Mr. Powers also advises businesses and manufacturers in matters relating to risk management, insurance coverage, warranty claims and debt collection. He represents corporate clients and individuals in both bench and jury trials in state and federal courts. He has litigated numerous cases in the courts of Tennessee’s Tenth Judicial District which includes Bradley, McMinn, Polk and Monroe Counties in East Tennessee. Mr. Powers has been admitted pro hac vice on several occasions in other states, serving as lead counsel for his clients in their litigation matters.
