Degan, Nancy

Nancy Degan, a shareholder in the New Orleans office, serves on Baker Donelson's Board of Directors and is a member of the Business Litigation Group. She has extensive experience helping businesses and business people resolve their disputes through negotiations, trials, arbitrations and appeals. She handles bank litigation, oil and gas disputes, shareholder actions and other securities litigation, and various business torts.

Representative Matters

  • Regularly represents banks in a variety of cases, including interest rate swap litigation, breach of contract and lender liability claims.
  • Successfully defended numerous companies in disputes with their shareholders.
  • Obtained $3.5 million summary judgment in securities fraud case.
  • Obtained $2.7 million summary judgment for national oil and gas producer in breach of contract action.
  • Successfully represented international manufacturer of products supplied to energy companies.
  • Successfully represented an international hair care manufacturer and majority stockholder in breach of contract/unfair trade practices action brought by distributor.
  • Regularly represents mineral producers and lessees in royalty and legacy litigation.
