Jason A. Strain, associate in the Memphis office, focuses his practice in the areas of real estate acquisitions, sales, financing, development and leasing. He also represents both lenders and borrowers in a variety of secured lending transactions. In connection with various real estate transactions, Mr. Strain has counseled clients in successfully obtaining tax and other incentives from state and local governments. During law school, he served as an Executive Editor of the journal Law and Policy in International Business and also worked as a research assistant to a professor of English Legal History at Georgetown University. Mr. Strain joined the firm in 2003 after previously serving as a summer associate in 2002.
- Represents the corporate real estate department of a local national bank in its real estate acquisition and development efforts
- Represented a large food products manufacturer in its site selection and acquisition process for a new approximately $100 million manufacturing plant; assisted the client in obtaining significant tax and other incentives from state and local government; continues to assist the client through the construction process
- Assisted with title and leasing matters in a client’s approximately $80 million financing of a new life style shopping center near Jackson, Mississippi
- Represents the owner of an approximately 450,000 square foot office tower complex in its leasing activities
- Represents an air ambulance company in ground leasing sites for new bases around the country
