Grady Garrison, of counsel in the Firm's Memphis office, concentrates his practice in the areas of intellectual property law and franchise law. Mr. Garrison has experience in trademark, copyright, franchising, antitrust and trade regulation matters and licensing, litigation and transactional issues related thereto. Specific areas of experience include selection, clearance, registration and enforcement of pharmaceutical marks; registration of U.S. Assigned Names at FDA; negotiation and licensing of intellectual property from drug discovery company to pharmaceutical companies; filing of IND applications at FDA and surrender of same to remove FDA jurisdiction; drafting of commercial supply agreements, turn-key manufacturing agreements, product collaboration agreements and joint venture agreements with pharmaceutical companies; and acquisition and termination of licenses and surrender of intellectual property.

Representative Cases

  • Represented a global logistics company in federal district court against the world’s largest supplier of bar code scanning technology in a case involving claims of breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secrets and technology, conversion and breach of fiduciary duty. Resulted in a multi-million dollar settlement.
  • Represented a producer of cereal and convenience foods in a trademark infringement action against a global oil and gas company. Resulted in a favorable settlement.
  • Represents the world's largest cheerleading and dance company in trademark, copyright and proprietary information litigation matters.
