(Memphis, TN / September 30, 2013)  George T. "Buck" Lewis of the law firm Baker Donelson has been selected to be a recipient of The University of Tennessee's national Alumni Service Award.

The Alumni Service Award is awarded in recognition of extraordinary service to The University of Tennessee.  Mr. Lewis received three degrees at the University of Tennessee: a B.S. in Business Administration in 1976 and a J.D./M.B.A. in 1980.

"Buck Lewis is exactly the type of high-achieving and high-service individual the University of Tennessee is fortunate to count among our more than 335,000 alumni around the world," said Dr. Joe DiPietro, president of the University of Tennessee System. "He has been an extremely engaged member of both the alumni and development boards of the UT College of Law, and in addition to generous financial gifts to his alma mater, Buck gives generously of his time as one of the University's most ardent and influential advocates in West Tennessee. He is most deserving of this honor."

Douglas A. Blaze, Dean of The University of Tennessee College of Law, added, "Buck is an extraordinary individual who has devoted his career to serving his clients, his alma mater, his profession and his state. He represents all that is great about the University of Tennessee and the legal profession."
