Chad Graddy, of counsel and assistant general counsel in the Memphis office, concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and tort litigation with an emphasis on breach of contract, fraud, construction and medical malpractice cases. Mr. Graddy represents a wide variety of clients and has handled numerous trial and appellate cases as lead counsel in both Tennessee and Georgia. An experienced litigator and former prosecutor, Mr. Graddy has extensive trial experience.
- Represented large municipality and its utility division in landmark water rights suit filed by neighboring state over rights to an interstate underground aquifer
- As lead counsel, won liability verdict at trial, and negotiated subsequent damages settlement, for a leading national owner and operator of wireless communication infrastructure in breach of contract lawsuit related to an agreement to purchase a telecommunications tower
- Successfully defended, as lead counsel, telecommunications company in lawsuit filed by neighboring landowners who sought injunction to prevent the construction of a telecommunications tower
- Represented regional construction company in Georgia lawsuit alleging breach of contract, achieving successful settlement for client
- Defended several national debt collection corporations in state and federal courts actions alleging violations of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and Tennessee Consumer Protection Act
- Successfully defended national bank in wrongful foreclosure lawsuit, winning summary judgment and subsequent appeal to Tennessee Court of Appeals
- Defended large national in-ground pool manufacturer in products liability case tried to verdict in Oklahoma
- Represented national automobile manufacturer in numerous product liability actions in state and federal courts
- Defended and successfully settled lawsuit filed against client in suit alleging trademark infringement and related claims
- Represent large hospital system in lawsuits alleging medical malpractice and personal injury
