(Birmingham, AL / October 8, 2015) Baker Donelson announces the addition of Michael H. Johnson to the Firm's Global Business Team in Alabama.
Mr. Johnson joins Baker Donelson's Birmingham office as a shareholder. His practice focuses on counseling domestic and international public and private entities in areas including cross-border transactions, foreign direct investment, international trade and market entry, and commercial and corporate law. He works with clients in advanced manufacturing industries, with a specific focus on automotive, aerospace, heavy manufacturing and technology. Mr. Johnson has extensive experience in trade and investment projects in Europe, Latin America and Africa. He is also the North American corporate counsel for several European, Latin American and Asian entities in diverse manufacturing and service industries, and corporate counsel for several U.S.-based exporters.
Mr. Johnson has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in Mergers and Acquisitions Law since 2014. He currently serves as Honorary Consul of Germany for Alabama and previously served as Honorary Consul of Brazil for Alabama from 1995-2010. Mr. Johnson serves on the board of directors for the Alabama Germany Partnership, is a member of the German American Chamber of Commerce, and is fluent in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Catalan.
