Nashville's largest law firms are reporting a new wave of hiring, but instead of pronouncing a full-blown recovery after the recession, they are describing a new normal where clients are paying more attention to costs than ever before. In this Tennessean article, Scott Carey, managing shareholder of Baker Donelson's Nashville office, said corporate attorneys who had seen work levels decline during the recession are seeing demand pick up in areas such as real estate, tax, and mergers and acquisitions.
"We were probably fairly typical through the recession, in that our hiring trends were more conservative," Mr. Carey said. "Now, as the demands of our clients are increasing, we are adding lawyers."
