Sara M. Turner Named Vice Chair of DRI's Technology Committee

(Birmingham, AL/October 8, 2008) Sara M. Turner, of the law firm Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, has been appointed Vice Chair of DRI's Technology Committee.

DRI is the national organization of defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel. Its Technology Committee strives to meet the needs of its membership by keeping them apprised of recent legal rulings and to educate the membership in the use of new technologies in order to increase operational efficiency, reduce overall costs and facilitate better internal and external communication with customers, clients, other counsel and the courts. Ms. Turner has been appointed to a one-year term and will be eligible for an appointment to a second one-year term, prior to being considered for progression to serve as Chair of the Committee.

Ms. Turner, an attorney in the Firm's Birmingham office, concentrates her practice in the area of litigation with an emphasis on product liability, class action, commercial and transportation claims. Her experience includes reinsurance and complex insurance coverage matters. Ms. Turner has previously served in a number of leadership roles in the DRI, including serving on the Steering Committee for the DRI Young Lawyers Committee, member and Diversity Chair of the DRI Products Liability Steering Committee and member of the DRI Technology and Trucking Steering Committees.

With more than 22,000 members, DRI provides numerous educational and informational resources to its members and offers opportunities for liaison among defense trial lawyers, corporate America, and state and local defense organizations. DRI also has an international presence, seeking to enhance understanding of the law among members of the defense community who have reason to be concerned with the expanding globalization of litigation defense.
