Professional Biography


Ms. Adams defends a broad range of clients in the oil and gas industry against complex personal injury and property damage lawsuits at both the trial and appellate levels. She focuses her practice on environmental litigation, including claims of alleged groundwater and surface contamination, subsidence, and land loss; torts related to property, including trespass, nuisance, premise liability, and neighboring landowner claims; and breach of contract, lease, and/or servitude claims.

Ms. Adams is a member of the Civil Procedure Committee of the Louisiana State Law Institute. Before joining Baker Donelson, Ms. Adams served as a judicial extern to U.S. District Court Judge John W. deGravelles of the Middle District of Louisiana in Baton Rouge and a legislative intern to state representative Franklin J Foil (District 70).

  • Providing ongoing defense of multiple oil and gas companies in "legacy lawsuits" seeking remediation of alleged surface and subsurface pollution, including alleged groundwater contamination.

  • Successfully mediated a highly-contested business dispute involving a multi-million-dollar buyout of a member's interest in a closely-held limited liability company.

  • Defended a leading global provider of disaster response services in a high-profile federal court litigation after a Congressional investigation, resulting in a favorable settlement.

  • Providing ongoing defense of Coastal Zone Management Act lawsuits asserted by various Parishes and the City of New Orleans.

  • Successful representation of oilfield waste management facility against claims of alleged surface and subsurface pollution and groundwater contamination, resulting in favorable settlement.
